- Promise FASTTRAK RAID cardsThis is the second "Promise Technology" card I have ordered. My first card was the IDE version for my wife's PC that is used in her accounting business. She had a hard disk failure and as advertised the "Promise" card warned her of the problem but allowed her to continue. We chose not to continue but replace the defective drive. Installed new drive and the system rebuilt the new drive in the backround as she continued with her normal work. She was up and running with NO data lost. I was so impressed I purchased the SATA version for my PC that had a dead on-board SATA controller and it worked great.
Thanks Promise for a great product.

- Will Not InstallI could not get this to install correctly. I run Windows XP SP3 with all updates from Microsoft. I downloaded every driver package they had on Promise website and none would install correctly. I have been a computer tech for 40 years and I do not understand how anyone can have a product in this day and age that requires a floppy drive to install the drivers from included CD.
All I want to do is hook up a new SATA CD/DVD drive to my Dell computer which only has 2 SATA ports. This card will not even recognize any CD drives. For this price and hassle I give this one a definate thumbs down.
- Works with 64 bit VistaI purchased this because my onboard RAID failed. It was very easy and straightforward to get it running. I just plugged it into the PCI slot, connected it to a pair of 1 GB internal SATA drives, and off it went. I did have to download the driver from their website and configure a RAID 0, but that too was simple.
I like things that work well with minimum fuss.
- Great for the moneyI have several of these installed in customer machines.
Not much to say -- they have worked flawlessly from word go. Documentation is a little sketchy and once you are through it and up and running I have not had *any* issues with these cards.
- Gets the Job DonePlain vanilla SATA RAID CARD but gets the job done.
Great value, comes bundled with Web Management software.
very reliable so far.
